Piano Performance
Join Curatorial Assistant, Chet, for a special performance on Charles Edison’s Hallet Davis piano in the museum. Music was very important to the Edison family and Charles played the piano throughout his life. The family’s love of music was inspired by Mina Edison, who studied music and the classics at Miss Abby H. Johnson’s Home and Day School for young ladies and with a professor of harmony at the New England Conservatory of Music. All of Mina’s children, Charles, Madeleine, and Theodore were taught how to play the piano and received lessons from Lucy Bogue, the Edison’s long-time employee. Bogue was one of Mina’s great friends and companions and a close acquaintance of the family for 20 years.
Included with admission.
