The Great Days of May

May is filled with memorable days, including Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10; Cinco de Mayo on Tuesday, May 5; and Memorial Day on Monday, May 25, and many more! And there are some fun places to enjoy during the 31 days of May. Plus, the best part of it is that it’s a great time to get out and enjoy the last bit of spring—before summer starts—June 21, 2026.

Cape Coral offers a few great places to enjoy the celebrations at one of the fun parks, including SunSplash Family Waterpark, Gator Mike’s Family Fun Park, and Tropical Breeze Fun Park. They are all within a short distance of one another—near the intersection of Santa Barbara Boulevard and Pine Island Road.

Sunsplash is a great way to cool off and enjoy exciting fun on thrilling water slides, or kick back and enjoy something calmer like the Main Stream Rivertube ride that winds its way around the park. There are rides and attractions for all ages. And they have a concession stand with hot dogs, burgers, cool treats, and tasty beverages.

Enjoy a sweet treat at Gator Mike's

Gator Mike's offers fun for the whole family, including mini-golf, climbing walls, go-carts, bumper boats, an arcade, and much more! Dining options include Mellow Mushroom Pizza with a full menu, a snack bar with chicken tenders, fries, and beverages, including adult drinks. Plus, there’s a new cool-down option—Dino Scoops, a new on-site ice cream shop.

“Gator Mike’s is the perfect place to play, eat, and enjoy a delicious treat!” says Owner  Christopher Scuderi.

Tropical Breeze makes it easy for everyone to have a great time with mini golf, home of the world’s longest golf mini-golf hole, a GellyBall field, and a variety of food and drink options from the Tiki concession.

Memorial Day is a Federal holiday that honors and recognizes military personnel who died in service, and BBQ events have long been associated with that day. Some enjoy backyard celebrations with burgers, corn on the cob, and baked beans. Others head to a local Cape Coral Park, such as the 16-acre Cultural Park, with a large open multipurpose field, a multi-use trail, playground equipment, picnic shelters, and a public restroom. A complete list of Cape Coral parks is available. So, get out and make May memorable!
