Besides offering a chance to express oneself, art classes have been linked to higher test scores, higher attendance, and a greater likelihood of being recognized for academic achievement.

There are a few places in Cape Coral that offer art classes for children. One is the Cape Coral Art Center which has clay classes, such as Clay Kids (8-12 years) and Clay Teens (13-17 years). The Center also offers a summer camp, Creativity Camp, for ages 7 to 13, where the creative processes include air-dried clay, mixed media, painting, drawing, colored pencils, and a gallery exhibition. All supplies are included in the tuition.

“The Cape Coral Art Center offers a variety of affordable art classes for children, making it easy for young artists to explore their creativity, learn new techniques, and create unique pieces. With a welcoming environment that encourages discovery, each class offers a fresh opportunity to learn something new,” says the City of Cape Coral’s Senior Public Information Specialist, Kaitlyn Mullen.

There are also many opportunities for adults at the Center. For more information on classes, programs, events, and exhibitions, call 239-574-0802 or email [email protected]. Cape Coral Art Center, 239-574-0802, 4533 Coronado Pkwy, Cape Coral, capecoral.gov
