Perhaps you’re trying out for a talent show or enjoy singing in the shower or on your way to work. One great way to show off your vocals is to head to a local karaoke venue, such as Back Streets Sports Bar in Cape Coral. No stranger to karaoke, Back Streets has been hosting karaoke since 2008. Over ten years ago, they started hosting karaoke seven nights a week from 9:15 pm until closing.  On September 24 from 6-9 pm, they will offer an early bird karaoke evening for those who enjoy an earlier night.

“We are the number one karaoke spot in Cape Coral,” says owner Shelly Walton. Indeed, the bar is Cape Coral's go-to for karaoke. “We have a lot of excellent singers, which makes for a great experience,” adds Walton. The bar offers a spectacular sound system with a screen for singers to read the words. There’s also a screen for other guests to read or sing along. The vast catalog of karaoke songs includes something for all singers, such as country, rock, pop, and oldies. The crowd is supportive of all singers. Plus, the DJ can provide some backups upon request.

Back Streets has an annual karaoke contest from May through August on Sunday nights. “We generally have 12-15 semi-finalists, and the August finale is where they compete for prize money,” adds Walton.  October 30 offers a karaoke costume contest from 8 pm to midnight with a $500 cash prize for the winner. Plus, the Down South Debauchery Hot Sauce Karaoke contest will be hosted on October 16 from 9 pm to midnight.

Guests will find a tasty menu with everything from NY-style pizza to appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and more. There are also daily specials. In addition to karaoke entertainment, there’s live music offerings and 37 TVs to watch sports shows. Special events include trivia games, wine tasting, and other festivities. A sidewalk café, an outdoor bar, an inside dining room, and a game room with pool tables, darts, Buzztime tablets, offer a perfect spot for all. There are plenty of things to do and ways to enjoy the fun at this local favorite.
