Naples Concert Band to Host Concert in the Park This Sunday

Feb 08, 2018 11:13AM ● By Kevin
The Naples Concert Band puts on its February Concert in the Park this Sunday, Feb. 11, at 2 p.m. The concert takes place at the Cambier Park Bandshell. The band is a nonprofit organization dedicated to entertaining the community with enriching live musical performances.

"This Concert in the Park will be one for the history books, with guests including Broadway vocalist Mark Sanders singing a medley of Barry Manilow hits and violinist Glenn Basham, concert master for The Naples Philharmonic, back by popular demand!" a recent press release stated.

Special performances of Verdi's The Force of Destiny; Malaguena; the Star Wars Saga; Eighties Flashback; and The Devil Went Down to Georgia by Charlie Daniels will round out the concert. This performance is sponsored by the Habitat for Humanity and Craig and Kathy Fenton.

The band celebrates its 46th season, which includes "powerful soloists and unforgettable music" with seven regular concerts in the park and two special joint concerts with the Bonita Springs Concert Band.

Admission to all Naples Concert Band performances is free, with donations appreciated.  Donations received at each concert help defray expenses and help with The Band's Scholarship Fund.

There is an information tent at all performances with details about future concerts, sponsorships, volunteer opportunities, and how to become a "Fan of The Band."
