The Dan Heck Blues and Truth Sextet
Truth means “Jazz.” Or Jazz means “Truth.” You can take your pick when The Dan Heck Blues and Truth Sextet take the stage. Their horn heavy arrangements will have you tapping your feet, snapping your fingers and believing the truth they are laying down as they feature the music of Mingus, Nelson and Adderley. This high energy ensemble takes its name from Oliver Nelson’s seminal Jazz album “Blues and the Abstract Truth.” This sextet features Dan Heck on bass and Dan Miller on trumpet, both of whom are well known both locally and nationally. They are accompanied by Brennan Yetter and Gabe Wallace on saxophone, George Mancini on trombone and Paul Gavin on the drums. If you think you can handle the truth, please join us in welcoming this unique ensemble to center stage.
