The Cape Coral Art Center’s annual exhibition schedule includes an impressive 18 to24 exhibitions in two fine art galleries with a mixture of open-call, solo, and curated group exhibits. Admission is free and open to the public from Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.

From August 4 through 24, the center presents "Living Ink," an exploration of tattoos through paintings, drawings, three-dimensional art, tools, and prints of tattooed bodies. The open-call exhibit will be on display in the Side Gallery. The gallery reception will be held on Friday, August 11 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. The reception includes light refreshments and a chance to meet the artists.

“Living Ink celebrates the art of tattoos, captivates the senses, and pushes boundaries. It celebrates the human canvas and living masterpieces,” says Jessica Wisdom, Recreation Program Supervisor.

During the same days in August, the Art Center will also offer the "Color Clashing" exhibit in the Main Gallery, an open-call exhibit in which artists explore the juxtaposed effects of complementary colors.

“These art pieces aim to clash bright and vibrant colors,” explains Wisdom.

The reception will take place on Friday, August 11 from 5-7 p.m.

October kicks off spooky season with the "Witching Hour 2: The Art After Dark" in the Main Gallery.  Art lovers will journey into the fabled realm of nightmares with this chilling open-call exhibit, from October 6 through November 2.  The reception will be held on Friday, October 27, from 5-7 p.m.
