Top Spots for Beach Lovers In and Around Cape Coral

Do you enjoy feeling the hot sun beating down upon your shoulders as you dip your feet into the summer water? If so, you know that the summertime is the perfect time to experience the beautiful, sandy beaches of Southwest Florida. While Cape Coral features two beaches within the city's limits, there are plenty of places to check out in neighboring towns, if you're willing to venture out a bit.

Below is our list broken out by geographic location. We start in Cape Coral and work our way out to Fort Myers, Sanibel/Captiva, and beyond. As always, if we're missing any of your favorites, tell us in the comments below!

Cape Coral

The main beach is located within the Yacht Club Community Park on the southeast corner of Cape Coral at the end of Driftwood Pkwy.

For people who prefer the pool, the Yacht Club Community Pool is located just a few feet from the Yacht club beach and features a heated Olympic Size pool and a kiddy pool with interactive Dewdrop fountain and underwater bubblers. A daily fee is required to use the Yacht Club Pool, but fully trained lifeguards are on duty at the pool during all operating hours.

Cape Coral's newest beach is located at Four Freedoms Park on the banks of Bimini Basin just south of Cape Coral Pkwy. Visitors to four Freedoms Park can enjoy fenced in playground equipment for children ages 2-12, picnic tables and BBQ grills.

Alcohol is not permitted in either of the parks and animals are not allowed on the beach. Both the Yacht Club public beach and Four Freedoms beach are open from dawn to dusk daily; however, there are no lifeguards on duty.

There are lots of other parks along the waterfront that provide more activities for fun in the sun. Below is a breakout of all of Cape Coral's parks and the activity(ies) for which they are known.

  • Bernice Braden Park - Known for view of the Cape Coral Bridge; fishing; picnics.
  • BMX Boat Ramp - Known for being an access point to six nearby lakes.
  • Burnt Store Boat Ramp - Known for being an access point to the Gulf of Mexico.
  • Eagle Skate Park - Known for its new, state-of-the-art outdoor skating facilities.
  • Horton Park and Boat Ramp - Known for being an access point to the Caloosahatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico; river views; close to the Sanibel Causeway Bridge.
  • Jaycee Park - Known for special events: birthdays, family gatherings, special events; scenic views on leisure walks.
  • Lake Kennedy Community Park - Known for being home to Sun Splash Family WaterparkLake Kennedy Senior Center; also features a fitness area, walking path, and beautiful gazebo that is a popular spot for photo opportunities, and the Kiwanis Gardens are located here.
  • Rosen Park - Known for being a neighborhood park and saltwater boat launch access point to the Caloosahatchee River and the Gulf of Mexico; river views; close to the Sanibel Causeway Bridge.
  • Saratoga Lake Park - Known for picnics, basketball courts, bocce courts, lighted horseshoe pits, and views of Lake Saratoga.
  • Seahawk Park - Known for the landing strip built to service radio controlled airplanes and helicopters (home to the Cape Coral R/Seahawks Club).
  • Sirenia Vista Park - Known for viewing wildlife, such as manatees and osprey and other birds; fishing; kayaking.
