Cape Coral's New French Bakery Aims to Be a People-Friendly Business in the Community

My Sweet Art, a French bakery, opened in Cape Coral on May 4, 2017, with a goal of connecting with its customers and the people in the community.
"One thing I love is the exchange with people," said owner Yveline Mauclerc. "It makes me happy when they're happy, it's a pleasure to do that. To meet and exchange with people."
The pastry café is located in the Pine Island Shopping Center, at 290 Nicholas Parkway NW, and serves breakfast daily from 10 a.m. to noon, and lunch all day. They are open until 6 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and until 2 p.m. on Sunday. My Sweet Art is closed on Mondays.
Menu items include a la carte pastries, like croissants, apple turnovers, baguette, French toast eggs and a variety of breakfast sides; omelets, salads, tartines, sandwiches, quiches and soups; as well as a variety of homemade pastries. The cafe also serves coffee and tea. The business offers eat in, take out and catering.
Mauclerc owns the shop with her husband, Eric Perez. The couple moved to Cape Coral to open the French pastry restaurant. Mauclerc earned a professional pastry degree at “Lenôtre” in Paris.
"We select high quality ingredients to prepare freshly and daily food, because our wish is that you have as much pleasure in eating your meal as we had to prepare it,” the business' website says.
The couple aimed for a Parisian cafe feel, with paintings and expansive imagery of the Eiffel Tower gracing the walls of the interior.
The business has earned 4.9/5 stars on Facebook, with 59 reviews, and 4.5/5 stars on Yelp, with 24 reviews.
"Everything from the service to food is French here! The Mrs. does all the bakery items and the Mr. is cooking up some wonderful French food in the back. We came in for a light bite but ended up with a full lunch and dessert," said Lindsay S. of Pembroke Pines on Yelp. "My boyfriend had the curry chicken quiche which was full of flavor with a light crust that didn't fill you up quickly. I had the gourmet salad which was enough to share without the quiche. It came with raviolis and tartines which were full of flavor.
"We decided to take two turnovers home for dessert later that night and were not disappointed. The crust was light and fluffy so you didn't feel overfill after eating one! If you have never experienced French food then this is the place to try. Just be prepared as French service is slow and inattentive but this is how it is in France! You come here to enjoy the food - don't worry about the other parts, just enjoy."
